Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.       The Special Services department is looking for qualified candidates for a full-time Special Services Program Specialist position for the 2022-2023 school year. This is a full-time position with full benefit package. Building administrators will contact you if you are selected for an interview.

      Position Summary:
      The Special Services Program Specialist will support K – 12 Special Services staff in the identification and implementation of high-leverage, evidence-based instructional strategies, to improve the academic and life skills of students qualifying for special education services. The Special Services Program Specialist will work directly with teachers providing coaching, collaboration and one-on-one support in developing programs and instructional systems for student supports. The Special Services Program Specialist will focus on enhancing the special education and general education teachers’ ability to provide rigorous, relevant instruction to meet the needs of students who qualify for special education services.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement or ESA Certificate
      • 5 years successful special education experience
      Salary:
      Paid per teacher salary schedule, plus 21 extra days and a stipend contract.
