Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The primary objectives of the Manager of Curriculum Development is to represent the company as the expert educational liaison to evaluate, revise, reformat, and develop new educational curriculum materials as related to national water and energy efficiency. The target audience ranges from kindergarten students to adult consumers.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
    • Representing the company as an expert in the field of education; ensure that all materials appropriately address state and national academic standards
    • Focusing on curriculum development while providing current, regional and relevant content for the company
    • Providing pertinent educational information to the management team
    • Partnering with the management team on the development of new cost-effective programs to enhance existing educational content
    • Disseminating information to staff regarding current and new educational programs and define staff member’s responsibilities for individual programs
    • Acting as a liaison with various State Offices of Education, County Offices of Education, School Districts, and regional environmental education groups
    • Developing new curriculum for national water and energy efficiency programs, evaluate, revise, and reformat current or supplementary curriculum, to ensure all materials meet or exceed state and national academic standards
    • Conducting extensive research to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of curriculum content
    • Correlating and updating all curriculum to meet or exceed State Education Standards and Benchmarks for numerous states
    • Evaluating success of curriculum through classroom visitations, classroom surveys, and the management of annual regional teacher focus groups
    • Editing curriculum content for grammar/spelling layout/formatting, and sense and style (i.e. meaning)
    • Properly referencing all facts within curriculum content accurately
    • Planning and maintaining all curriculum-related budgets
    • Meeting tight deadlines yet maintaining the quality of work and the quality of materials produced
    • Addressing various other related responsibilities as assigned to include occasional travel


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience

    • Experience as Principal, Vice Principal, or other Administrative Leader within the education sector
    • Master’s Degree in an educational field preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Minimum of five years successful K-12 teaching experience
