High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college preferred Adhere to the No Nonsense Nurture expectations for managing student relations and behaviors Meet all expectations as outlined by the DC Bilingual Leading and Learning Framework Abide by the DC Bilingual’s Super 7 Agreements, Community Engagement Principles, and Code Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required Primary Responsibilities: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed in this position. It is not, however, a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Direct or escort families crossing the the street and school driveway on the sidewalk, stopping traffic as necessary; guide or control vehicular or family traffic at street; monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps through which families can cross the street. Direct students to assure conformance to traffic regulations Report traffic hazards and flagrant traffic violations to leadership using a provided two-way radio Must wear provided traffic safety and control gear and work requires employees to stand, walk and use arm/hand signals, whistles, and voice Obey traffic flow and conditions Wait for natural breaks, or create effective breaks, in traffic to move pedestrians safely to/from the school and their mode of transportation Communicate traffic and crossing rules and other information to students and adults Other duties as assigned
