The Critical Care Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Critical Care Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • Lead a diverse service line consisting of ICU/critical care, sleep medicine and outpatient pulmonology practices with an expanding bronchoscopy program and nodule clinic at Kent Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island. This service line currently consists of 6 physicians and 11 advanced practice clinicians, some of whom are also affiliated with the Pulmonology and Critical Care Division at Mass General Brigham.

    About the Opportunity

    • Lead the ongoing development of the service line including an intermediate care unit, structured consult service, ICU continuity and other program expansions
    • Interface with the Hospitalist Team for Intermediate Care management.
    • Collaborate with Thoracic Surgery team to coordinate Lung Cancer screening, Navigational bronchoscopy, and service line growth
    • Clinical practice 75% and administration 25%.
    • Support institutional teaching mission with ACGME accredited residency programs in Internal Medicine, as well as with medical students.
    • Opportunity for faculty appointment at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University
