Critical Care Director directs the staff and programs of the critical care unit. Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for critical care services and programs. Being a Critical Care Director ensures quality care to patients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Critical Care Director typically reports to top management. The Critical Care Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Critical Care Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     To provide leadership and accountability in the strategic and daily operations for acute care and units. Developing and maintains excellent physician and associate relations, accountable for the quality of patient care provided by the nursing service. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all functions of the service to include quality, administrative, and financial outcomes. Oversees the delivery of patient care and has the responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice for the service and the nursing professional practice for CommonSpirit Mountain Region as a whole. Assure achievement of department, nursing division and hospital goals as well as adherence to hospital policies and standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies. May provide leadership over other departments that collaborate with nursing for care of the patients served.

     

    Span of control 250 head count and/or specialty alignment. May carry between 4 to 6 leaders as direct reports. Between 4 to 8 cost centers reporting. Reports to CNO/VP Patient Care Services.

     

    Physical Requirements:

     

    Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

    Qualifications

    In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

     

    • 4 years progressive clinical leadership experience required.
    • Experience in acute care preferred.
    • Masters required
    • BSN required

    $52.96 - $89.35 / hour
