Credit and Collections Supervisor jobs in Iowa
Credit and Collections Supervisor is responsible for the activities and operations in the credit and collections department. Oversees the processing and verification of applications for credit and the solicitation for payment on overdue accounts. Being a Credit and Collections Supervisor investigates credit issues and suggests payment options to be approved. Ensures collectors follow all protocols, laws and regulations to collect payments efficiently. Additionally, Credit and Collections Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Credit and Collections Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This is a full-time position; salary plus commissions is commensurate with experience. Potential earnings of $40,000 per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contacting consumers to collect payments on past-due accounts and resolve discrepancies using a supportive approach.
- Locating consumers via various databases.
- Verifying all consumers' information, including phone numbers and addresses.
- Providing excellent customer service by listening to consumers' explanations and establishing new repayment terms, if appropriate.
- Offering advice and communicating in a respectful courteous manner.
- Recording new repayment terms, when appropriate.
- Transferring accounts to collection attorney, when necessary
- Monitoring and maintaining account database.
- Complying with federal and state debt collection regulations.
