Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. The Collections Manager handles escalated collections issues and ensures final resolution for each account. Accordingly, they are responsible for making sure the department delivers outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of service to external members is to identify their financial needs and to suggest appropriate Credit Union solutions. In addition, the Collections Manager is responsible for collecting credit card delinquency and over-limit balances.
The Collections Manager must comply with all federal and state regulations such as Fair Credit Reporting Act (REG V), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Reg F), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Act (UDAAP), Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Truth in Lending Act, (Reg Z), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC), Credit Card Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, The Privacy Act, Regulation CC, etc., as well as all Old Hickory Credit Union policies and procedures.
Full-time Position: Monday - Friday, but could require occasional Saturday hours
