Description
The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, measuring, monitoring, and documenting key risks related to CME Clearing’s counterparties and exposures. The primary responsibility of the Analyst is to assess and monitor the credit risk of counterparties and assign internal credit ratings to the counterparties utilizing internal models. The Analyst will need to identify relevant business, market and other risks faced by the counterparties on a daily basis. A successful candidate will have experience with financial statement analysis and financial writing, as well as knowledge of financial institutions (banks, broker-dealers, trading firms) and derivatives markets.
Responsibilities:
Leverage financial analysis and industry/market research to evaluate CME Clearing’s counterparties and exposures
Monitor markets and counterparties daily and report out notable news items and how they will impact CME Clearing and its counterparties during weekly risk meetings, and on an ad hoc basis as necessary
Utilize internal credit model, as well as internal and external data and documentation, to rate all counterparties and complete credit rating documentation
Perform daily risk processes to monitor and analyze clearing member trading activity
Present analysis and other projects to senior management team
Participate in onsite due diligence reviews of CME Clearing’s counterparties
Skills and Software Requirements:
BA or BS in a finance, accounting, business or quantitative field
1-3 years of credit, finance, accounting or risk management work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge with Microsoft Suite and Bloomberg
Self-motivated professional
Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
Ability to work independently accurately and to meet deadlines
Must work well in a team environment
5% travel required
