    Summary

     

    Performs loan reviews based on risk and/or size of all credit types under the supervision of Credit Risk Supervisor or Manager.  This role will assist in ensuring that acceptable credit standard and prudent underwriting are maintained; credits are properly risk rated and loans conform to established bank policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements. The Credit Risk Analyst I conducts reviews of credit relationships as well as other special projects and communicates the results to senior management, loan officers and other internal departments.

    Duties and Qualifications


    The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary.

    • Review and analyze non-complex loans and all supporting documents for completeness and conformance with regulations, policies, procedures and practices to determine accuracy (adherence to approval, cash flow adequacy, appropriate risk rating, identification of exceptions, covenant testing, collateral analysis, etc.)
    • Prepare written summary reports of findings/observations
    • Follow up and track recommendations from prior reviews/reports
    • Perform all other duties, as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the credit risk functions
    • Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary
    • Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy
    • Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations
    • Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML

    QUALIFICATIONS

    These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or related field or equivalent work experience in the banking industry.  
    • Understanding of loan documentation, financial statements and cash flow is preferred
    • This is an entry level position for individuals, with little, if any, formal experience in loan review.
    • Computer literacy in Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and acute mental concentration for accurately performing tasks with frequent interruptions
    • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
    • Ability to work extended hours as required
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired

    ORGANIZATION

    • This position reports to the Credit Risk Supervisor
    • This position does not oversee other positions

    TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory trainings and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.
