Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Accounts Receivables Credit Clerk - Statewide

  • POSITION SUMMARY

    As the Accounts Receivable Credit Clerk, this role is responsible for excellence in assigned task fulfillment. This role will work directly with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to ensure timely accurate cash applications, including but not limited to all other daily credit clerk responsibilities, coordinated with the other accounts receivable clerk team members.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with cash receipt posting: Responsible for processing, reconciling, and applying daily deposits in various operating systems. Together with all A/R functions related to adjustments, chargebacks, and write-offs.
    • Process credit applications: Acquire credit reports, acquire public record reports, and prepare submittal package for review. Enter approved applications into various operating systems. Send approved or denied letters to applicants.
    • Process preliminary notice filings through the vendor website. Update subject account job notes in various systems.
    • Rerouting all daily inbound AR Dept emails, updating authorized buyers, and Certificate of Insurance information, uploading resale certificate through vendor website, processing AR customer refunds, update AR reporting spreadsheets.
    • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional job setting
    • 1 years of Accounts Receivable experience is a plus
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and terminology; strong math skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Intense focus on accuracy and attention to detail; organized
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Critical thinking skills
    • Outgoing & assertive personality – not afraid to approach individuals
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Excel, Word)
    • Experience with Epicor, TCR and Maxwell software preferred


    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:

    • Hours of operation are M-F, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
    • 40-hour work week
    • Primarily sedentary or working at a desk
    • Occasionally lift and move 10 -25 pounds
    • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
    • Proficient literacy
    • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, or reach with hands and arms
