Credit Clerk evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization. Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Credit Card Accounting Clerk (PT)

  • Requirements:
    • At least two accounting classes are preferred.
    • Must have the ability to create a teamwork environment in communication when fulfilling essential job duties and data input.
    • Must be able to work in a dynamic accounting environment.
    • Must have an aptitude for detail.
    • A strong understanding of basic accounting concepts and GAAP.
    • Ability to take a topic and apply it in many situations.
    • Strong PC skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work without direct supervision, be a quality teammate, and work independently.
    • Be highly motivated and well organized.
    Job Duties:
    • Gather and analyze credit card transactions of the various departments for the client assigned.
    • Process credit card bookkeeping entries under the Company’s disbursement process.
    • Participate in month-end close, emphasizing monthly timely credit card entry and statement reconciliation.
    • Learn grant reporting and budget analysis.
    • Perform accounting duties as a staff person as determined with each engagement/assignment by the CFO pending request skill set.
    • Interact with all levels of client personnel from the CEO to operations personnel to the rest of the accounting team.
    • Complete running activities from the Henderson accounting office to the various operational sites of clients as needed. This requires the applicant to have a reliable mode of daily transportation.
    • Be able to read and comprehend technical material from governing bodies including the SEC, FASB, and the AICPA among others.
    • Construct files and document work in a format clearly and consistently, within Company policy.
    • Timely and accurately fill out timesheets and submit them to ensure accurate and timely grant billing and payroll processing.
    • Attend a minimum of 24 hours of yearly training when identified to enhance professional knowledge. This is inclusive of the Company's 26 weeks of mandatory training.
    • Work as the assistant to the CFO in a manner consistent with that of an accounting professional.
    Pay Rate and Benefits:
    • $15.50 per hour 20-24 hours per week.
    • While this position starts as a part-time position it is built to move into a full-time staff position.
    • There is a 90-day introductory period. Upon fully completing the 90-day period the employee may be eligible for an employment bonus.
    • Employees are required to be paid through direct deposit to a bank of their choosing. Pay dates are the 7th and 22nd of the month.
    • Full-time employment is an average of 38 hours per week over a 52-week period commencing on the employee’s start date (for health and dental coverage the average hours per week are 30 or as may be documented in the Keeton CPA employee handbook).
    • 80 hours of vacation time after 1 year of full-time employment.
    • All firm personnel are permitted 4 hours per quarter of non-chargeable and socially oriented work, e.g. volunteering in their child’s classroom, charitable services, etc. This time is to be conducted under the name of the employee and not the firm name.
    • The following are firm holidays:
      • Memorial Day
      • Independence Day
      • Labor Day
      • Thanksgiving and the day after
      • Christmas Eve and Day
      • New Year’s Day
    After successfully completing the introductory period and the days that holidays fall in the year, full-time staff is also awarded 2 additional floating holidays which may be used from April 15 through December 30, but not be carried over into the next calendar year. Floating holidays may not be used in the last two weeks of employment.

    Dress Code:
    Generally, the client environment requires a dress code of business casual. Business casual includes slacks, dresses, skirts, and collared shirts. Business casual does not include jeans or shorts.
