Credit Clerk evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization. Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. General Responsibilities: Provide primary support for accounting, financial operations and payroll services. Engage in accounting maintenance, which includes accounts payable and cash management and provide occasional backup for ACH and corporate account administration.
Description of Duties:
1. Sales
a. Cross-sell additional products and services to members.
2. Cash Management
a. Balance vault daily and keep vault balance sheet for both vaults
b. Monitor cash supply for both locations and place cash order as needed
c. Facilitate vault deposits and withdrawals
d. Facilitate wire transfers
3. Account Maintenance
a. Balance prior day activities via imaging program
b. Balance Corporate checking account
c. Pay bills and allocate/post to specific location
d. Assist in balancing corporate account
e. Balance Cashier’s Checks, Money Orders, and credit life and GAP accounts
f. Assist with month end activities as needed
4. Payroll Processing
a. Balance payroll daily
b. Input payroll changes and reconcile account
c. Notify SEG of payroll changes
5. General Accounting and Support
a. Maintain member cash deposit/withdrawal log
b. Monitor general supply inventories and replenish/disburse as needed
c. Maintain inventory of furniture and fixtures
d. Assist with Supervisory Committee audits and NCUA examinations
e. Assist with ACH coordination, corporate account balancing and Check 21 processing
b. Assume morning opening duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of related computer applications. Familiarity with basic bookkeeping procedures.
Experience Required: One year of related experience required. Typing or keyboarding experience required.
Skills/Abilities: Attentive to detail and accurate, well organized, cooperative and willing to assist others and able to use computer applications.
