    The salary range for this position is $101,250 to $140,000 Depends on Experience

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assign workers responsibility for investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, prepare documents to substantiate findings, and recommend rejection or approval of applications.

    Establish credit limits for customer accounts and handle special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment.

    Assign responsibility for investigation of fraud cases and possible legal action and collection for worthless checks and delinquent payments.

    Establish and update customers' credit activities.

    Review collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.

    Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account.

    Coordinate with others, including personnel in company branches and credit card companies, to exchange information and update controls.

    Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or outside agency for collection.

    Compile and analyze statistical data on fraudulent use of credit cards to develop procedures designed to deter or prevent future abuses.

    Assist management in the formulation of credit policies.

    Create management reporting dashboards and update management as to the status of receivables on a weekly basis.

    Track team performance through implementing KPIs.

    Utilize third party software to analyze customer credit risk and work with IT resources to integrate third party credit software to the company’s ERP system.

    Oversee the cash application process to ensure timely and proper application of cash receipts.

    Coordinate the transition of CE Card issuance/shut off/etc. processes from the Operations Department to the Credit and Collections Department.

    Lead the Company’s initiative to establish an automated cash application process through the use of lockbox/ERP integration.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervise team of employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     Language Skills:  Possess excellent communications and customer service skills.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
