    This position is eligible for a SIGN-ON BONUS OF $1,500

     What you’ll do:

    Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of accounts receivable, including but not limited to overseeing the company’s credit granting process, optimizing company sales, and reducing bad debt losses by following and maintaining the corporate credit policy.   Performs risk management, assesses the creditworthiness of potential customers, and conducts periodic reviews of existing customers. Manage, train, and develop the credit department staff members.

    Essential Functions:

    • Maintain the Corporate credit policy
    • Monitor accounts receivables base daily
    • Analyze financial data to determine the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers
    • Release sales orders from credit hold based on our company’s credit guidelines
    • Perform account reconciliations, including analysis of payments on aging report
    • Prepare and maintain month-end reports/spreadsheets
    • Oversee special public and commercial projects and monitor lien laws for various states
    • Demonstrate strong collection skills
    • Follow up collections of Accounts Receivables, taking all necessary actions to secure timely payment and emphasize overdue accounts
    • Perform various credit functions including, but not limited to, the determination of credit limits and terms, collecting receivables promptly, coordinating the release of orders with customer service and shipping, developing, and implementing formal payment plans
    • Maintain the department’s organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, peers, and team members
    • Develop and supervise the Credit Department team
    • Support Customer Service and Sales team regarding company credit policies and procedures
    • Problem-Solving:  Work with customer service, sales team, shipping, and billing department to resolve payment and billing issues
    • Plan, organize, delegate, and follow up on various tasks and assignments
    • Utilize strong negotiation skills; resolve conflicts/disputes
    • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
    • Prepare monthly and on-demand reports to present to senior management
    • Follow processes and provide documentation to support the internal and external audit requirements
    • Manage relationships with outside vendors such as collection agencies, check guaranty companies, and credit reporting services, within the industry

    Job Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Credit Manager for a large corporation with multiple locations
    • Minimum of 7 years credit experience
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Leadership and team management skills
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Critical thinker, negotiator, and analytical person
    • Ability to multitask within a fast-paced business environment
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Jet Reports
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting or related field preferred
