Creative Manager is responsible for managing all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout for creative projects. Being a Creative Manager implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals. Manages and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Additionally, Creative Manager leads the development of creative briefs and utilizes design methodologies that meet the business objectives and timelines of the organization and stakeholders. Evaluates and adopts the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Creative Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Creative Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This position is unique in its ability to develop and execute our marketing and communications strategy, curate dynamic content and digital fundraising campaigns, craft narratives, and design collateral that inspires the community to get involved.

    Key objectives of the position: 1) increase brand awareness and turn that awareness into action; 2) deepen engagement with donors, volunteers, guest families, and the community; and 3) bolster philanthropic efforts to support the annual operating budget.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Curate and manage social, digital, and traditional media, focusing on elevating awareness, reach, and engagement. Track, measure, and report key performance indicators.
    • Regularly identify and interview guest families, volunteers and donors. Generate content around rich stories that inspire others to get involved with the mission.
    • Design collateral, annual and impact reports, appeals, e-newsletters, event materials, video and presentations. Manage promotional merchandise.
    • Collaborate with the development team to plan and support annual fund efforts including but not limited to events, fundraisers, cultivation, and stewardship efforts.
    • Maintain and update the organization’s website to keep it fresh and engaging while meeting RMHC Global and ADA compliance standards.
    • Ensure consistent RMHC brand standards, maintaining and improving cohesive messaging and visual identity. Observe McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities trademark, licensing and brand standards in all promotional materials, collateral, and publications.
    • Generate media alerts and press releases and maintain relationships with media partners.
    • Draft crisis communication and ongoing program communication as necessary.
    • Manage marketing vendors. Leverage limited resources through in-kind contributions, partnerships, and sponsorships. Maintain and adhere to annual marketing budget.
    • Maintain files and archives of collateral, marketing materials, photos and videos of RMHC-M events, guest families, and volunteer activities.
    • Serve on the Development Committee. Provide advisory support to the Leadership Team.
    • Represent RMHC-M at networking events and secure speaking opportunities in the community.

    Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

    • Four to six years of related experience in marketing, communications, and content creation. Graphic design and video production helpful. Non-profit experience preferred but not required.
    • Excellent communication skills, with experience creating or supervising the production of materials such as annual reports, brochures, e-newsletters and appeals.
    • Comfortable in one-on-one, small group and large group settings.
    • Self-starter, able to perform and complete tasks independently. Be willing and able to learn new skills and motivated for continual improvement.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects, meet frequent and/or demanding deadlines and be self-disciplined about work prioritization and time management.
    • Demonstrated creative thinking skills.
    • Experience/understanding of the following or similar programs: WordPress, Adobe, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Microsoft Office, social media channels and website maintenance.

    Working Conditions

    The position is full-time, with primary hours falling during regular business hours with occasional night and weekend hours required. The position works in an office environment that is set in a home-like environment, and limited remote work may be available for this position. Some light housekeeping and light lifting may be required. Ability to access all areas of the House and grounds, including going up and down stairs. Exciting local and regional travel opportunities may be necessary.
