Crane Operator operates a crane to lift, move, load, unload, or position heavy materials or equipment. Performs daily safety and performance checks of crane equipment and may perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating or checking fluid levels. Being a Crane Operator communicates via hand or radio signals to receive or convey instructions. Identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols. Additionally, Crane Operator maintains documentation of activities including time logs and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulations and operating procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require NCCCO Certification. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Crane Operator works under moderate supervision. In this position, you will be required to operate a hydraulic crane. You must have the knowledge and training to safely perform crane lifts.
Establish good customer relationships
Work with local dispatch
Train riggers for future operator positions
Assist local sales staff
Assist maintenance as needed in making crane or truck repairs
Attend all required training to meet job requirements
Complete other duties as assigned by Management
Minimum of 3-5 years experience and a strong technical and professional skill set in the safe operations of all size hydraulic cranes. This position will require the ability to properly size cranes and rigging for the tasks at hand and be able to evaluate lift plans for accuracy and safety.
