Typically requires a high school diploma. May require NCCCO Certification. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Crane Operator works under moderate supervision.     Location: Elko, NV

    Position Overview:

    Loenbro Industrial Services is currently looking to hire an experienced crane operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a 75T – 80T RT hydraulic crane (TLL certification) to lift, move, position and/or reposition heavy loads on a construction site.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for maintaining safe crane operations as per company and manufacturers procedures within the crane’s capabilities.
    • Ensure that the crane is configured according to the manufacturers load charts, range diagrams and recommendations.
    • Ensure that any deficiencies that affect the safe operation are repaired before operating the crane.
    • Perform daily pre and post shift, safety inspections, complete appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies as required.
    • Ensure that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged.
    • Ensure that the boom angle and/or radius of the crane are in accordance with the load charts and range diagrams.
    • Knowledge of rigging and load limits.
    • Knowledge and understanding of various types of rigging equipment, basic hitches, and their applications.
    • Knowledge and understanding of standard hand signals and communications for controlling crane operations.
    • Ability to calculate and determine appropriate lifting equipment.
    • Ability to operate equipment within designated area with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
    • Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
    • Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
    • Support crew when not operating crane with general duties to complete work.
    • May operate other heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers.
    • Ensure work area and equipment is clean and free of safety hazards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • 5 plus years previous crane operating experience, preferably on heavy civil construction projects.
    • Must have a Valid NCCCO Crane Certification for Telescopic Boom Cranes—Swing Cab (TLL)
    • Experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers, preferred.
    • Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    Potential Hazards:

    • Outside most of the time
    • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures
    • Manufacturing and refining environment
    • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels
    • Limited working surfaces
    • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
    • Exposure to areas with limited visibility
    • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)
    • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks
    • Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
    • If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day
    • Standing
    • Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel
    • Use of respirator if position requires
    • Driving if required to travel
