Crane Operator operates a crane to lift, move, load, unload, or position heavy materials or equipment. Performs daily safety and performance checks of crane equipment and may perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating or checking fluid levels. Being a Crane Operator communicates via hand or radio signals to receive or convey instructions. Identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols. Additionally, Crane Operator maintains documentation of activities including time logs and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulations and operating procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require NCCCO Certification. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Crane Operator works under moderate supervision.   • General Purpose of the Job:

    To prepare stamping tooling for production by operating crane and all related equipment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operates overhead crane for Die Change Over, Pre-Stages Coil and Dies, Unloads/Loads Coil Truck, Changes Die Program, Insert Ram Block
    • Operating Crane and Lift Truck,
    • Daily Safety Check List for Presses and Crane.
    • Implements Continuous Improvements,
    • Inspects Quality of Parts,
    • Load Parts in a fixture,
    • Follow Inspection Sheet, Packaging, make labels,
    • Complete Production Sheets, Counters, Red Tag Dies.
    • Practices guidelines as set out in company handbook
    • Practice good housekeeping.
    • Prompt and regular attendance
    • Other duties that may be assigned.
    • Practices and obeys the environmental, health and safety rules of the company

    Reports:

    The incumbent is responsible to prepare the productions sheets, Red tag dies, counters and daily safety check list.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    Informs Supervisor of non-conforming parts.

    Computer Skills

    Organization and basic office skills, including computer, data entry, and word processing skills as necessary.

    Responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment

    The Associate will be required to wear Matcor Automotive issued personal protective equipment, follow all Matcor Automotive PPE policies and procedures and will be responsible for care, attention and adherence to health, safety and environment procedures.

    The Associate is also responsible for own health and safety and work-related environment issues.
