MRL Equipment Company CORE OPERATING PRINCIPLES
We HIRE, OPERATE, and FIRE based on these 15 internal operating principles. These will not be just words on the wall, they will be put into action as tools to maintain the highest standard of operational excellence we can offer. These principles will be the standard for EVERYONE to uphold throughout the entire company.
1 | HAVE GRATITUDE
Be thankful for all that we currently have. We live in the greatest country on earth, we have GREAT CUSTOMERS, we have great teammates, and we have unlimited potential as an individual and as a collective team. There is so much to be grateful for if you take a moment to reflect and say thanks.
2 | BE POSITIVE
Always look for the upside in every situation. You control your attitude and how you react to the daily challenges you will encounter. Choose to be a positive influence in whatever situation you are involved in.
3 | BE DISCIPLINED
Self-discipline is a powerful tool. Hold yourself accountable and you will not yourself or your teammates down. Do what needs to be done. Do what is required, not just what is convenient. Make sure you know the standards required for each situation you find your-self in and stay the course.
4 | BE LOYAL
Be loyal to the customer, be loyal to your teammates, be loyal to company standards, and be loyal to the standards and goals you have set for yourself. Loyalty = Trust and worthiness. We want everyone who is involved with MRL to know that they can count on us when they need us.
5 | BE GOAL ORIENTED
Have goals, set goals, crush goals. Goals give you purpose, direction, focus, and destination. Goals give us a target that keeps us moving forward.
6 | BE LEARNING EVERYDAY
Be a student of life. Show up with the mindset to get better at as many things as you possibly can, every day. This includes making your skill set, mindset, attitude, and perspective better each day. You can learn things from everyone you encounter if you are listening and open to receiving the information they offer.
7 | TAKE INITIATIVE
Do not wait for things to happen for you, make things happen. Be a leader, be a force for positive change, be default aggressive, and take action. Do not wait for an invitation to take action. Instead ask, “What can I do to help?”
8 | ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY
Even when your intentions are good, you may make a mis- take. Be a leader, accept responsibility for your actions, and learn from them. Accepting responsibility shows humility and is a character-growth opportunity.
9 | LEAD BY EXAMPLE
Be a leader and do the right thing, even when no one is looking. If you know what is right, be a leader and DO it!
10 | BE SELFLESS
Give more than you take. We are a team, put “WE” before “ME”. Leave everything you touch better than you found it.
11 | PROVIDE VALUE
Make every interaction a valuable exchange for the person you are working with or for. Provide solutions to problems and make people’s lives and experiences positive. Be the value-added just by being you. Look for opportunities to be or do something extra for the people around you.
12 | BE HUMBLE
Do not let your ego get in the way of learning. Be of service and be a student of life. Stay humble and practice humility. Be humble enough to receive information and wisdom as it shows up. When you get good enough at something, people will do your bragging about you. You won’t have
to say a word.
13 | BELIEVE
What you believe you will achieve. Believe in yourself and whatever you set out to do. Believe your input is important to the mission’s success. Believe you are a value add wherever you are. Believe it at work and outside of work.
1 4 | STAY THE COURSE
You only lose if you quit! Progress is the only direction forward. We will face adversity, and we will have tough days, but we will stick together gather strength from each other, and overcome as one. The obstacle is the way
F.M = Forward Momentum!
15 | CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLE
You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to the things that happen to you.
Make sure you know what is in your control and become great at controlling what is in your control. You and you alone control your thoughts, words, attitude, and actions.
Be sure you are making choices that you will be proud of tomorrow.
ATTITUDE IS A LITTLE THING THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE!
