Cost Estimation Engineer estimates costs for construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other implementation projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cost Estimation Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Description
· Perform standard cost review and analysis as well as assist with monthly quarterly annual physical inventory counts and reconciliation
· Support A/P with account coding and purchase order issues as well as plant personnel
· Analyze monthly financial statements, production variances, as well as standard labor and overhead rates
· Analyze productivity data to identify cost savings and production opportunities
· Provide variance analysis defining business implications and suggested actions
· Assist Divisional Controller with financial forecasts
· Monitor standard costs, recommend new standard cost models for raw material and update all costs once a year or more frequently as required
· Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products and services
· Serve as the point person for testing and overseeing new applications, processes, procedures and system security
· All other duties assigned
Requirements
· BA/BS in Accounting or Associates degree in Accounting or Finance required
· A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting
· Experience working in construction-based (percent of completion) accounting preferred
· Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling techniques and financial analysis tools and methods
· Knowledge of financial and other database reporting/query software
