Cost Estimation Engineer estimates costs for construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other implementation projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. 2.Minimum 5 years experience working with Bill of Materials/product structure/quotations or related area
Strong computer/data skills using standard data and drawing tools - (Excel, Adobe, CAD, etc.)
3. Review sales generated request and associated customer documentation.
4. Put all the information obtained from customer’s documentation into standard quoting format and build up a BOM accordingly.
5. Work out souring template for getting material price.
6. Link all price quoted by suppliers back to BOM and work out related info like LT, material excess and so on.
7. Review and compare drawing and BOM again to make sure everything is match up.
8. Send ready PAW to supervisor for review.
