Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Jacobs-led team will serve as MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and manage the construction aspects. A joint venture between Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company – was selected to support the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as they embark on their expansion program. The position will go through the Joint Venture JRMT Program.
Summary of position:
The Cost Engineer ensures project costs are recorded and tracked per MARTA standards. The role shall support the project team in making informed decisions about the health of the budget as well as performing analyses that aid in the proper allocation of resources, identifying possible risks, and determining production costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Cost Control Manager to support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the project's financial and status reports and presentations.
Communicates promptly and effectively to requests for response, research, and information and gathers answers through communications with department staff.
