Cost Estimation Engineer estimates costs for construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other implementation projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cost Estimation Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Effectively communicate within all departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
Use of CAD software to manage files and program processing equipment
Learn product offerings, labor / material cost, and company processes capabilities.
Prepare price quotes or orders in a timely manner as per the customer expectations.
Develop understanding of process types to increase sales growth and profitability.
Work with sales team to generate accurate estimates that meet customer’s needs and expectations.
