Cost Engineer - Construction develops and implements cost control procedures, documents, and tools to support and enhance project budget management. Collects and coordinates procurement and other cost information used to develop cost forecasting, cost control strategies, and project risk analysis. Being a Cost Engineer - Construction performs data analysis to identify project trends and budget deviations and highlight cost underruns and overruns. Has extensive technical knowledge of processes and materials specific to the type of project. Additionally, Cost Engineer - Construction experienced with the cost-estimating methods best suited to the nature of the project. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Cost Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The hired candidate must have their own transportation for daily travel from home to job sites, and between lodging locations and job sites.


    Location: Varies based on project assignment (within continental U.S.)

    Shift: Varies; 1st shift with varying hours, including possible overtime and weekend work


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Create three-dimensional themed work for a range of projects.
    2. Create various paint finishes and renderings to enhance the visual appeal.
    3. Collaborate with designers, and team members to achieve project goals.
    4. Use a variety of tools and techniques, including welding, cutting, grinding, sanding, spraying, brushing and mixing.
    5. Develop master forms, molds, parts and color pallets to ensure project precision.
    6. Work projects from surface preparation to finishing touches.
    7. Maintain written and verbal documentation to track progress and details.
    8. Utilize basic hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, pliers, shovels, and rakes.
    9. Operate power tools, including drills, saws, handheld grinders.
    10. Strictly adhere to safety requirements and equipment guidelines.
    11. Follow all company policies and procedures.
    12. Perform other tasks as assigned.


    Knowledge and Skill

    • A combination of education and experience in artistic fabrication and construction.
    • Proven ability to sculpt, paint, and fabricate theme projects.
    • Strong reading and comprehension skills with effective communication abilities.
    • Capacity to apply common sense to detailed instructions and handle standardized situations.
    • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints is preferred.
    • Forklift and light equipment operations experience is a plus.
    • OSHA/safety training is preferred.

      Physical Demands

      • Tasks involve handling, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

      • Capacity to lift 70 lbs. from floor to waist, 90 lbs. from waist to chest, 25 lbs. from chest to overhead, carry 50 lbs. over a distance of 50 ft., push a 100 lbs. wheeled cart over a distance of 100 ft., and drag 50 lbs. over a distance of 100 ft.


      Work Environment

      • Exposed to typical construction noises, smells, fumes, airborne particles, and machinery.
      • Moderate to loud noise levels.
