PURPOSE
This position is responsible for a variety of plant accounting duties within the Finance & Accounting Department including directing the processing of plant work orders in accordance with FERC/RUS guidelines and assembling and analyzing construction work order costs in order to prepare billings/refunds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
1. Analyzes work order data in order to obtain actual costs and prepares billing or refunds.
2. Directs the processing and closing of plant work orders in accordance with FERC/RUS guidelines, prepares resulting work papers and accounting entries.
3. Compiles information and prepares billings to various government entities according to established contracts. May perform similar work for other contracts as developed.
4. Analyzes staking sheets, warehouse material issues, and other attached backup for completed work orders and converts construction units to record units.
5. Provides support to the Engineering Department answering inquiries on letters of agreement, financial analysis of work order costs, etc. and provides supporting documentation.
6. Responsible for maintaining the pioneer database.
7. Assists with the preparation of monthly and annual financial and statistical report. Prepares and maintains monthly audit work papers.
8. Prepares invoices for telephone drops.
9. Provides backup and assists others in the department as needed with administrative and accounting support.
10. Special projects as required, including assistance to others around the department as needed.

This position is classified as a non-exempt, represented position, and is eligible for overtime compensation based on both Federal and State of Alaska laws. All Association employees are expected to work widely varying amounts of either (1) unscheduled overtime such as during power restoration activities; or, (2) scheduled overtime required to accomplish special projects.
