Position Summary

Summary

Contributes to the profitability of the company through the provisions of financial and business management, encompassing the ideas of business planning, control, reporting, and the analysis and interpretation of business results as they relate to the strategic and operating objectives. Works with Operations to further develop the company's costing system to enhance profitability as well as incorporate newly acquired business into the costing system.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Timely produces financial reporting, financial cost analysis, and interprets financial information for Senior Management.
• Partners with management to improve customer profitability.
• Aligns standards to budget by calculating burden and material rates.
• Oversees full cycle accounting as it relates to cost accounting.
• Works with external auditors on account support and information requests.
• Develops costing portion of annual budget, re-forecasts as needed.
• Develops, maintains and monitors internal controls.
• Maintains and monitors accounting policies and procedures.
• Creates weekly reports that enhance the accuracy of the costing system.
• Collects and produces information for corporate and/or divisional planning and control.
• Develops make versus buy models.
• Manages information systems integrity for financial reporting.
• Maintains and keeps abreast of accounting standards and developments (professional development).
• Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

 Manages the day to day activities of the Cost Accounting team. 

Requirements

Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a comparable discipline and at least 3 years related experience in cost accounting and managerial experience; or an equivalent in combination of education and experience.
