As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our cost accounting system, supporting manufacturing operations, and providing insightful analyses to drive cost-effective solutions.
Job Description:
- Lead the development of annual plan and reporting processes related to manufacturing standard and variance cost accounting.
- Prepare monthly operational reports detailing material, labor, and overhead efficiency and productivity costs compared to plan.
- Produce monthly standard and gross margin analyses, cost of goods manufactured, and cost of goods sold statements.
- Review cost and variance trends, researching significant variations and recommending appropriate responses.
- Analyze daily operating performance to identify significant issues in inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold.
- Review new BOMs for accuracy and establish labor and overhead rates aligned with operating budgets.
- Collaborate with General Managers to develop improved reports and enhance understanding of inventory transactions.
- Work with Pricing Manager to analyze operational costs and suggest adequate pricing strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiencies and productivity.
- Assist in the implementation of new MRP software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 3 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting.
- Proven record of assisting operational leadership in understanding and improving processes to support bottom-line results.

We are seeking candidates with a few years of experience or recent graduates with coursework in cost accounting/accounting. Candidates should be willing to travel to our facilities in NH, MA, NY, PA, and IL as needed. Computer proficiency is also essential for success in this position.
