Cost Accountant
Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant! This full-time, direct-hire role is based in Dover, NH, with travel to the company’s facilities in IL, NY, and PA. If you’d like to join the team at a desirable employer, then don’t hesitate to apply!
Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant

• Oversee and analyze all cost expenditures related to manufacturing processes
• Manage and maintain cost accounting system
• Lead the development of annual plan and financial reporting processes and formats
• Produce detailed cost reports and analyses in support of operations and sales
• Review cost and variance trends, research significant variations, and recommend solutions
• Review new BOMs for accuracy
• Establish labor and overhead rates in line with operating budgets
• Work with the General Managers to understand current reporting metrics, develop improved reports, and fully understand inventory transactions as relates to the general ledger
• Work with Pricing Manager to analyze, discuss, and suggest adequate pricing based on operational costs within the facility
• Suggest process improvement projects to increase efficiencies
• Assist in implementing new MRP software
• Perform additional tasks and special projects as required

Qualifications of the Cost Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3 years of progressive experience within accounting/finance with specialty in manufacturing cost accounting
• Proven record in assisting operational leadership with understanding and improving processes to support bottom line results
• Computer proficiency, especially MS Excel
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
