Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:
- Maintain standard cost of raw materials, packaging, labor and finished goods
- Review standard and actual cost variances, provide report to management
- Analyze and review profit margins by category, plant and product line
- Carry out variance analysis such as purchase price variance to cost variance, cost revaluation, invoice to purchase order variances
- Determine estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Monitor cycle count programs and conduct physical inventories working with the production plants
Preferred Qualifications Of The Cost Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience required
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills
- Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel and working with ERP/Financial System
