Position: Cost Engineer /Sr.Project Engineer                        Salary: Based Upon Qualifications and Experience

Location: Charlottesville and Surrounding VA Areas  ( possible regional travel to projects)

Cost Engineer General Duties:

• Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other project expenses
• Evaluate a product’s cost-effectiveness or profitability
• Develop project plans for the duration of the project(s)
• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses factors
• Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues when needed
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates and or cost analysis
• Collaborate with management team, engineers, and contractors on estimates
• Recommend ways to make a project more cost effective or profitable
• May assist in training and assisting team members cost tracking methods and reporting
• Other Duties as assigned

 Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or relevant field Preferred but not Required
• Construction Accounting Knowledge and Experience
• 3-5  years of Relevant Experience.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Superb communication and presentation skills.
• Aptitude to succeed in a stressful and deadline-oriented environment.
• Solid understanding of spreadsheets like MS Excel
• Proficient in accounting software such as Procore, SAGE

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards Travel to job site
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
