    Summary :

    Northern Light Health Foundation seeks an innovative and experienced development professional with strong corporation and foundation relationships to serve as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. The Director will develop a strategy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporations and foundations to support Northern Light Health (NLH) and its member organizations to meet the healthcare needs in the communities we are proud to serve. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and collaborative professional with significant relationships with business leaders throughout Maine to lead a comprehensive corporate and foundation giving program to support NLH and its member organization priorities. The Director will proactively manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects by implementing effective and strategies to solicit and secure major ($10,000 ) and principal ($100,000 ) level grants and corporate gifts.

    Responsibilities :

    • Collaborate with philanthropy colleagues to develop comprehensive prospect management and stewardship strategies.
    • Develop internal and external relationships by establishing trust, respect, and rapport within a professional working relationship.
    • Develop strong and compelling case for support for NLH and member organization priorities.
    • Communicate system and member organization programs, capital projects, and other needs to prospects and donors.
    • Engage corporate and foundation representatives and track with moves management plans.
    • Manage, prepare, and edit strong and effective proposals and cases of support.
    • Secure high-level cultivation and stewardship meetings for system and member organization leadership.
    • Develop and manage a comprehensive sponsorship program to support NLH and its member organizations.
    • Maintain high quality stewardship process for active corporate and foundation prospects and donors.
    • Track detailed cultivation and solicitation activities via Blackbaud
    • Understand NLH rules and processes related to budgeting, financial compliance, grant management, gift receipting, health information/patient privacy, and public information reporting.
    • Participate fully in prospect management and tracking, maintaining accurate and useful information on corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
    • Develop strong corporate partnerships and identify, evaluate, cultivate, and solicit commitments to support the mission and goals of the system and its member organizations.
    • Supervise staff and mentor and educate others.
    • Position will require travel around the state, attending social events, presenting to small and large groups, and interactions with a variety of individuals in varying environments. Weekend and evening work is often required.
    • Other duties as needed.

    Other Information :

    • Demonstrated record of success in generating significant commitments from corporations and foundations
    • Development of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for effective fundraising.
    • Strong experience in supervision and mentoring employees
    • Strong and proven grant and proposal writing, communication, and research skills
    • Ability to initiate and build relationships with corporate and foundation prospects and donors
      • Minimum of five years of demonstrated successful corporate and foundation fundraising and/or business development with substantive major gift experience
      • Preference given to candidates with corporate and/or foundation and direct business development/major gift experience particularly within healthcare
      • Preferred CFRE certification
      • Preferred master’s degree - Batchelor's degree required
    • Possess self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with large groups and individuals
    • Maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
    • Manage and complete multiple projects in a timely manner with limited supervision
    • Experience with Blackbaud Raisers Edge and NXT
