Corporate Ethics Helpline Administrator administers the corporate-wide anonymous reporting systems ("helpline"), allowing all stakeholders to disclose violations of the corporation's ethical standards, laws, or policies without fear of retaliation, as required by Sarbanes Oxley. Manages the flow of "helpline" inquiries to completion, and ensures that all allegations of unethical or illegal activity is referred to the appropriate resources within the ethics and compliance function. Being a Corporate Ethics Helpline Administrator serves as the internal database coordinator for ethics and compliance tracking information systems. Monitors progress of investigation and documents and maintains accurate records of issues handled. Additionally, Corporate Ethics Helpline Administrator prepares and maintains reports and statistical analysis of "helpline" activity. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Corporate Ethics Helpline Administrator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Ethics & Compliance Officer

  • To establish guidelines and procedures for investigating allegations of misconduct, abuse, or violations of policies and procedures within the Juvenile Detention Center.  Will handle investigations, due process hearings for youth and other relevant matters.
    1. Investigate Allegations. Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of misconduct, abuse, or violations of policies and procedures within the juvenile detention center. Investigate JDC staff and interview contract staff who have potentially engaged in activity that is not in compliance with the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center/Marion Superior Court policies.
       
       
    1. Review Complaints.  Receive and review complaints from staff, residents, and external parties regarding potential wrongdoing or breaches of protocol within the facility.
       
       
    2. Gather Evidence Collect and analyze evidence, including witness statements, surveillance footage, documentation, and physical evidence to ascertain the facts surrounding reported incidents.
       
       
    3. Interview Personnel/Witnesses Interview staff members, residents, and other relevant parties to gather information and testimonies related to ongoing investigations.
       
       
    4. Maintain Confidentiality Ensure confidentiality and discretion throughout the investigation process to protect the privacy and safety of all involved parties.
       
       
    5. Report Findings.  Prepare detailed reports outlining investigation findings, including conclusions and recommendations regarding outcomes or potential policy changes.
       
       
    6. Collaborate with Authorities.  Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, legal authorities, and external oversight bodies as needed to support investigations and ensure compliance with legal standards.
       
       
    7. Monitor Compliance.  Regularly review and assess the juvenile detention center's policies, procedures, and practices to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend improvements.
       
       
    8. Provide Training. Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff members on ethical conduct, professional standards, and regulatory requirements to prevent future incidents of misconduct.
       
       
    9. Promote Accountability.  Advocate for transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior throughout the juvenile detention center by promoting a culture of integrity and responsibility among staff and residents.
       
       
    10. Respond to Emergencies.  Act promptly to address urgent or high-priority issues, including emergencies, security breaches, or serious allegations, to minimize risk and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in the facility.
       
       
    11. Follow-up Investigations. Conduct follow-up investigations as necessary to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented effectively and that any recurring issues are addressed promptly.
       
       
    12. Document Management.  Maintain accurate and organized records of all investigations, including documentation of evidence, interviews, findings, and resolutions, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
       
       
    13. Remain Current Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and legal developments in the field of internal affairs and juvenile justice to improve investigation techniques and procedures continuously.
       
       
    14. Support Management. Provide support and guidance to management personnel regarding Ethics and Compliance matters, including interpreting policies, addressing concerns, assisting with audits, and implementing corrective measures to maintain a safe and secure environment within the juvenile detention center.
       
       
    15. All other tasks and duties as assigned.
    Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, psychology, social work, or a related field is required. Must be 21 years of age. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with proven experience conducting investigations. Intermediate computer skills required with familiarity with Microsoft products.  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Previous experience in law enforcement, corrections, or a related field is required. Knowledge of community resources, child abuse and juvenile justice laws, policy compliance, behavior management system, and emergency evacuation codes essential. Specialized training in one or more specific clinical areas is required, including, but not limited to: internal affairs investigations, juvenile justice, and relevant laws and regulations. The ability to maintain confidentiality and strong, appropriate boundaries is required.  

    Must be a resident of Marion County within six months of date of hire.

    Salary is based on applicable experience.  There are enhancements for bi-lingual skills as well as educational enhancements.

    While the traditional hours of this position will be 8a-5p, Monday through Friday, flexibility with the schedule will be required.  There may be times when the schedule must flex to hours on second or third shift, or the weekend, depending on the work assignment and the availability of the employees needed to complete the assignment.

    A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.
