Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager oversees and promotes the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Implements programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager communicates the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager conducts compliance monitoring, investigations, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. Manages the administration of confidential reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Reporting to the Sr Manager, Corporate Procurement the Manager, Corporate Procurement & Compliance oversees the delivery and compliance of the Procurement Policies, Processes, and their controls. Utilizing their proficiency and knowledge in procurement, this individual will guarantee the organization obtains the best value for money while decreasing risk and financial exposure. The incumbent will build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide training to both the mill and corporate staff, ensuring that West Fraser’s Corporate Procurement Policy is followed.

    Job Duties

    • Responsible for the creation of Corporate Department POs in alignment with West Fraser’s Financial Policies.
    • Auditing of procurement activities for both the Corporate and Mill level purchases in line with the requirements set forth in the Procurement Policy.
    • Responsible for the ongoing vendor spend analysis for North America. Identifying opportunities to consolidate spend, improve controls and pursue new strategic partnerships.
    • Reduce risk and exposure by auditing documentation related to high dollar value purchases; to include sole sourcing justifications, RFQs and quotations.
    • Support new vendor setup requests from the business in conjunction with Accounts Payable.
    • Perform the first-pass review of capital appropriation requests ensuring all documentation has been attached and the procurement policy has been followed.
    • Working closely with the Corporate Supply Chain and Procurement Managers, establish a continuous improvement process and operating rhythm to systematically review and improve the processes and policies related to all Procurement activities within the organization.
    • Provide training to the Corporate and Mill level employees to ensure compliance and best practices are being utilized throughout the organization.
    • Testing of ERP and Maintenance system implementation projects and changes as they relate to the Procurement modules.
    • Continuously improve and streamline procurement processes, supporting technologies, and tools with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency.
    • Special projects and tasks as assigned.


    Skills and Experience you will need:

    • 5 years experience in Procurement within a publicly-traded organization.
    • Strong understanding of the requirements of operating in a publicly-traded organization in accordance with SOX controls.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence business partners, help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization's needs and build rapport.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner to positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the company.
    • Experienced in purchasing within an ERP and/or Maintenance System.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, or other relevant area preferred.
    • Preference will be given to individuals with experience within a manufacturing environment.
