Corporate Construction Manager oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Follows established quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Corporate Construction Manager reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Corporate Construction Manager builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Corporate Construction Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Corporate Construction Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     A DAY IN THE LIFE

    • Manage the procurement of all necessary entitlements and permits for clients on key projects with accelerated time frames
    • Effectively communicate schedule, budget, and action items with owners/clients to facilitate projects
    • Be a point of contact for the client during the preconstruction process and represent the predevelopment team to all external parties through project closeout
    • Act as an advisor to clients on site layout, building design, and entitlement path to best fit their timing and cost needs
    • Coordinate with real estate attorneys, landowners, and development partners
    • Travel (primarily day trips) to visit prospective sites across the region, conduct visual inspection, and meet with local authorities to gather information and develop a preconstruction plan for a project
    • Create and manage schedules
    • Prepare and maintain preliminary cost estimates
    • Research and develop design alternatives and value engineering solutions
    • Prepare documents for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
    • Manage the conceptual site plans and preliminary engineering documents through construction documents
    • Oversee the preparation of engineering studies and report conclusions to design and construction team

    NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Urban Planning
    • 3-10 years' of preconstruction or land development experience
    • Experience should demonstrate successful project delivery including schedule and budget management
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, ARCO Design/Build will support the pursuit of licensure for EIT
    • AutoCad and Civil 3D (or similar site work program) preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Project and Excel
