Corporate Compliance Director manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Corporate Compliance Director oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Corporate Compliance Director evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Compliance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Compliance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. In general, the successful candidate should be collaborative and an excellent communicator with stellar analytical skills. The current Employee Work Arrangement (EWA) for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business, with a minimum of 2 days per week. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site. What you can expect: Providing timely and pragmatic advice and counsel to business clients in connection with group insurance products and services. Drafting and negotiating service provider agreements and non-disclosure agreements. Reviewing marketing materials for group insurance products and services. Coordinating with internal constituencies to ensure timely delivery of appropriate advice. Advising on issues pertaining to insurance company regulatory matters. Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments and business trends impacting group insurance products and services. What you’ll need: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school 4 years of experience either with a law firm, insurance company or other financial services institution. Bar admission and active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar, ability to register as in-house counsel. A strong work ethic and customer-service mentality. Superior written and verbal communication skills. It’d be a plus if you had: Knowledge of laws and regulations governing insurance products.
