What's the Short Version?

The Manager, Copywriting leads the verbal expression of our apparel brands. This role inspires and leads a team of writers to deliver exceptional campaign and copy solutions for SanMar's marketing communications, ensuring brand consistency across an integrated mix of apparel product marketing, corporate communications, social media, and web content.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Manage, inspire, guide, and mentor a writing team to elevate creative product.
• Develop creative campaigns for marketing initiatives, including new product launches, seasonal initiatives and corporate communications.
• Ensure consistency of voice and tone for a variety of private label apparel brands.
• Contribute to consistent visual and verbal brand expression.
• Evaluate copy solutions and campaign solutions, make recommendations based on audience.
• Guide consistent creative development through variety of marketing channels including print, web, social media, corporate communications.
• Assist with script writing for video production.
• Review and edit team’s writing, as needed.
• Foster a collaborative and creative team environment.
• Establish a network of freelance writers as resources when workload ebbs and flows.

What Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of communications experience, including copywriting, corporate communications, social media and media production.
• Previous experience in a leadership position that has developed strategic/brand campaign messaging.
• Previous experience of mentoring and guiding a team of writers.
• Agency experience of managing a team within a large in-house creative organization is preferred.
• Experience in apparel and/or B2B environment is preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other marketing, merchandising and sales team members .
• Ability to manage the creative process, workflow, workload and resources among the writing team.
• Keen understanding of effective copywriting and editing principle.
• Strong work ethic, and leadership qualities.
• Inclination to learn and grow professionally.

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $105,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience.

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
