As a Content Copy Editor, you edit pieces produced by the content team for Go Local Interactive and its clients. Your attention to detail and adherence to branding guidelines ensures proper voice and tone. You leverage your knowledge of grammar and writing mechanics to strategically and creatively edit copy that is optimized for search engines, keeping your clients goal top of mind. You primarily edit copy for location pages, static pages, and blogs, secondarily implement content into clients content management systems, and tertiarily develop content to help with production efforts of the content team. You work well with a team, and you take initiative to meet goals and deadlines.
Job Expectations
Edit copy for static pages, location pages, and blogs
Rewrite and proofread existing content created for Go Local Interactive and its clientele for readability, consistency, and English language best practices
Adhere to branding guidelines, along with required voice and tone
Manage multiple projects and adapt to changes and revisions
Leverage digital platforms to implement content
Write copy for static pages, location pages, and blogs
Clearly and consistently communicate between internal product teams
Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and writing best practices
Job Qualifications
Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines
Must demonstrate strong conceptual and written communication skills with a deep understanding of the English language (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary)
Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style
Must demonstrate a proven track record of improving personal performance after receiving direction and constructive criticism
Must demonstrate creative and strategic thinking when solving problems
Must demonstrate attention to detail while creating and revising projects
Must demonstrate a basic understanding of content management systems, such as WordPress
Must demonstrate an understanding of search engine optimization
Demonstrated proficient skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Required Experience
Bachelors Degree in English, Mass Communications, Journalism or another related field preferred
