Cooperative Program Coordinator jobs in Maine

Description

The Augusta Teen Center provides a safe place where adolescents, many of whom are disadvantaged, can learn marketable skills and healthy living habits, and have opportunities to give back to the community.  We are currently looking for a Program Coordinator to coordinate and implement programs that encourage the kids to focus on the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and implement teen activities ensuring high-quality experiences focused on the core values.
• Facilitate social activities, discussion groups, and outings.
• Contribute to the success of club members, particularly teens seeking employment and exploring education or career options.
• Ensure the general safety of the club & its members.
• Act as a mentor to the teens by involving them appropriately.
• Suggest new ways to improve the club.
• Maintain records and documentation as required by the program or any grants. 
• Transport teens as requested.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership skills. 
• A willingness to problem-solve and bring new ideas to team discussions.
• Ability to work with and mentor a diverse population of teenagers.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2 years’ experience developing and implementing engaging programs.
• Experience working with youth.  
• Bachelor’s degree in mental health, social work, education, or a related field preferred, or equivalent related job experiences.
