Cooking Assistant prepares raw ingredients for use in recipes. Washes, chops, stores, and handles ingredients. Being a Cooking Assistant prepares portions of ingredients for workstations. May prepare sauces and garnishes or assist cook with basic recipes. Additionally, Cooking Assistant follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Cooking Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Resident Assistant Job Description
Resident Assistant’s assist older people who are functionally, physically,
and or socially impaired and need 24-hour oversight. The CNA’s / Resident Assistant’s role
is to assist residents with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without
help, always fostering residents’ independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities
will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of the Pioneer Medical
Center.

Qualifications:
1. Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations. Must be self-motivated and function as an “in charge person.”
2. Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
3. Must be able to work flexible hours and/or shifts (including holidays) and participate in holiday activities.
Working Conditions:
1. Exposed to body fluids, infection, odors, and behavior of residents.

Physical Demands:
1. Must be able to lift/push up to 40 pounds.
2. Must be able to walk two miles daily.
3. Must be able to go up and down stairs.
4. Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using proper body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
5. Must be able to use stepladder for changing light bulbs and hanging seasonal décor.
6. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
7. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional stress of this position.
