Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Controller manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.   • Summary
    The Controller position is responsible for all corporate accounting and control functions. These functions include financial reporting, general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.

    Essential Responsibilities and Requirements include the following:
    • stablish and maintain adequate general accounting systems necessary to record operating results to management. This includes custody of all books of account, records and forms required to objectively record financial transactions, and conform them to sound accounting principles with proper internal control.
    • Direct a team of senior accounting managers, including annual goal setting and performance evaluation.
    • Experience with a global operation including multiple currency conversion management, and the ability to communicate and collaborate with key members of the corporation from around the world.
    • Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of manufacturing operations, standard cost accounting and the related accounting requirements.
      • Manage and oversee the measurement of manufacturing performance against approved operating plans and standards.
    • Coordinate and oversee the annual budgeting process, including updating targets and plans with interim forecasts.
    • Manage and prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including performance against plan with variance analysis, for both internal and external users of financial information.
    • Oversee coordination of the year-end audit.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax agencies, including income, withholding, sales, personal property, franchise, and payroll related taxes. Includes coordination of all tax activity related to tax agents and auditors relative to maintenance of records and preparation of work papers.
    • Effectively communicate with external partners including banking, legal and other professional organizations
    • Experience in Financial Reporting System set-up and maintenance
    • Specific month-end close and budgeting responsibilities include:
    • Salaried payroll
    • Related employee benefits such as healthcare, bonuses, vacation, 401-k, and workers compensation
    • Assures that all reserves and accruals are adequately maintained and accounted for.
    • Assists with daily cash management.
    • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required by the VP of Finance/CFO.

    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 10 years experience.
    • Advanced Degree in Accounting of Finance is preferred
    • Certifications such as CPA or CMA preferred
