Seeking a hands-on experienced Controller to manage all financial aspects of a well established and growing organization. The Controller functions as part of a collaborative leadership team that works closely together to set goals and attain business objectives.
The Controller leads an accounting staff of 3 people and works as part of the team to ensure timely and accurate accounting results. We are looking for a Controller with a proactive approach and the ability to budget and forecast future financial results.
The organization has multiple locations throughout California, and the Controller works within the corporate headquarters based in Modesto, CA. There is a career path for the Controller to transition into the CFO role after showing successful results in the Controller position.

Partial List of Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting operations (including billing, bookkeeping, costing, inventory, revenue recognition and general ledger)
- Budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Develop, implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Research technical accounting issues
- Prepare budgets and strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership team to provide financial guidance and support for the organization
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and filings
- Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
Desired Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5 years proven experience as a Controller or similar role
- Excellent technical skills and accounting software knowledge
