Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Event Coordinating Supervisor to join our banquet sales team. As a Catering Event Coordinating Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning the overall look and experience of the events, as well as assist with event display set ups. Our events include arena concessions, banquets, continental breakfasts, galas, beer tastings, graduations, and more! We are located on a university campus in Greater Cincinnati.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the look and feel of the event including rentals, linen, flowers, risers, ballon arches, signage, tablescapes, social media posts, and more
- Comfortable posting event details and photos on social media posts
- Ensure smooth execution on event day by coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Assist in decor planning and customization based on client preferences and dietary restrictions
- Contact customers to details the event with them
- Train and mentor catering staff on service standards, food safety protocols, and event setup needs
- Monitor inventory levels of catering supplies and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment
- Oversee event setup, including table arrangements, decorations, and equipment setup
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during food preparation, handling, and service
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and timely manner
Experience:
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in catering or banquet services
- Strong knowledge of food service operations and industry best practices
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and staff members
- Knowledge of bartending techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with kitchen management procedures is preferred
