    The AWS Website Team is looking for a Digital Asset Manager that will be responsible for managing a centralized DAM that will serve as the unified source for digital assets used across multiple organizations in AWS. This individual will serve as the asset librarian and curator, providing the structure and recommendations to help the website team and our multiple stakeholders with storage, cataloging, managing, and organizing images, text files, logos, audio, video, or other assets. This role is vital to an effective digital strategy. Serving as the primary advocate for managing content in a central location the Digital Asset Manager will serve as the DAM Admin, making it easier for stakeholders and external users(partners) to share and track assets while creating a more efficient content supply chain that allows for better search, content reuse, and less duplication of digital assets.

    The ideal candidate for this role has a BA in Information Science, Computer Science or a similar area and has a blend of technical, analytical and communication skills. Besides being comfortable working with marketers, content architects, engineers and the DAM product manager, they must also understand metadata, taxonomy, digital rights, search facets, and web-publishing processes, digital asset managers must also have the following skills:

    • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), ticketing systems, project management tools, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) skills. Experience with AEM is a plus.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and assets, implementing efficient and effective systems for a highly matrixed and decentralized organization with multiple content creators.
    • Develop in collaboration with our Information and Content Architects, a consistent methodology for applying metadata tags to assets with the flexibility to scale while still meeting user requirements.
    • Collecting and managing digital assets so that they are functional and readily accessible while adhering to governance and tagging standards.
    • Develop the strategy for how to scale the DAM to eventually support multiple stakeholder teams, asset types and users at an enterprise-wide scale while maintaining consistency with the asset structures.
    • Work well as a teammate and a leader managing relationships with engineers, product managers, marketers, ands multiple stakeholders clearly explaining usage conditions and access procedures for the company’s digital assets.
    Key job responsibilities
    • Leverage structured taxonomy, metadata, and asset categorization put in place by the Information and Content Architects and contribute to requirements to ensure the structure meets stakeholder search and usage needs.
    • Provide recommendations and requirements for DAM system integrations.
    • Streamline asset lifecycle by automating workflows, reducing manual tasks to improve productivity and efficiency company-wide.
    • Define user roles and permissions, establishing asset permissions according to business and customer needs to prevent unauthorized modifications or deletions. of assets or key metadata.
    • Ensure that relevant and up-to-date versions of digital marketing assets are easily searchable and that only authorized personnel can change access permissions.
    • Establish efficient mechanisms for asset search and application.
    • Publish up-to-date usage and licensing data.
    • Achieve content usage uniformity applying timestamps, automating expiration dates, restricting channel assets, and enforcing company-wide compliance with content creation and distribution policies.
    • Develop and share reporting that will help AWT review key metrics that pertain to access, usage, and lifecycle of digital assets.
    • Ensure correct licensing and copyright information accompanies content.
    • Provide requirements to the Product Manager to help with automation of key CLM related tasks, including management of published content licenses.
    • Tag digital assets with relevant metadata for enhanced organization, search and use ensuring consistent naming conventions.
    • Conduct comprehensive asset audits to understand asset volume, type, and organizational importance, helping identify potential asset gaps.
