Contact Center Scheduler, Sr. jobs in Lake Charles, LA

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Serves as primary contact for Radiology scheduling needs of the Center for Orthopaedics Imaging Center while serving as back up to the Patient Access Representative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Schedules radiology exams for multiple modalities based on orders from referring providers. Modalities include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Bone Density and X-Ray.
2. Screens patients prior to scheduling based on safety protocols for each modality.
3. Registers and confirms that all patient demographic data is correct and verifies patients' insurance.
4. Monitors patient accounts for credit status or delinquent accounts prior to scheduling appointment.
5. Route patients to Patient Financial Counselor for collection of past due balances prior to scheduling appointment.
6. Works closely with the technologists to ensure tests are scheduled correctly.
7. Re-schedules patients when necessary.
8. Works closely with the insurance verification specialist to ensure that all patients scheduled have insurance that we are in network with or in some cases that we have an out of network authorization for.
9. Works closely with referring providers to ensure that the authorization they provided is accurate.
10. Greet and check in patients in a courteous and friendly manner.
11. While checking patients in, collect any patient responsibility due at the time of service and address any past due balances.
12. Performs all other tasks as assigned by manager.
