General Description

Oversee nursing programs at the Brien Center, in conjunction with division directors and other staff.

Essential Job Functions

Nursing:

• Supervise and/or manage nursing services for divisions and programs
• Meet regularly with nurse managers and other direct reports
• Offer additional support when nurse manager positions are vacant
• Supervise management of MAP (Medication Administration Program)
• Review caseloads when necessary to ensure that medical and clinical needs are being met
• Interview nursing applicants, make hiring recommendations and monitor training of new nurses
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure quality of care
• Supervise the inventory of medical supplies
• Establish positive relationships with nursing schools and other community organizations
• Coordinate the psychiatric orientation of nursing students in the area when requested

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, Master's degree preferred
• Registered Nurse with current licensure in Massachusetts
• Minimum of three years experience in nursing or healthcare
• Experience in performing oversight activities or quality assurance
• Experience and/or training related to compliance
• A track record of producing work that is highly accurate and demonstrates attention to detail
• Computer experience should include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at the intermediate level, at a minimum
