As a Payment Specialist, you will provide high-quality customer service to NDHFA’s borrowers, performing collection activities on NDHFA’s mortgage loan servicing portfolio. The successful candidate will become an expert in NDHFA’s unique loan servicing options and will interact with customers by phone, email and in person. Candidate must be able to thrive in a highly demanding work environment and manage daily tasks with frequent interruptions. The Payment Specialist will be supported by a dedicated team within the Homeownership Division.

Duties and Tasks

• Work with borrowers on curing delinquent payments, negotiate and monitor repayment plans. Review and process NSF payments and notices daily on delinquent loans.
• Maintain accurate loan collection activity records and produce in-house reports, notifying management of all serious delinquent mortgage loans.
• Implement mortgage regulations and policies ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
• Monitor, coordinate, and provide technical assistance to external servicers in their collection activities on NDHFA mortgage loans.
• Provide high quality customer service to borrowers.

Working for NDHFA

NDHFA utilizes a blended workplace model. This position will be located in the Bismarck office. The final applicant must be located in or willing to relocate to the Bismarck area.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of work experience in financial services, mortgage loan processing, loan servicing or collections along with an associate degree in business, accounting, finance or related field of study or a combination of education and experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay: $3,508.00 - $4,443.00 per month
