  • Role and Responsibilities

    As a Mail Processing Clerk, you will sort, organize, and process mail from customers, vendors, and partner locations in the local area. This position will also include assignments & back-up duties in between clerical duties and jobs received. These duties will be assigned by management and can/will change from day to day.


    Job Description: Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited, to the following. Please note other duties may be assigned accordingly.

    • Report to the Production Lead at the beginning of the assigned shift to discuss daily assignments.
    • Perform pre- and post-shift physical inspection of mailroom tables, machines, and supplies.
    • Attend daily production meetings/huddles to prioritize job schedules for assigned equipment.
    • Load & prepare all necessary materials for job assignments.
    • Sort and organize mail received into proper mailing categories or groups.
    • Inspect mail to ensure there is no damage to the mail piece.
    • Weigh each mail piece as needed per category or group.
    • Enter the mailing category or group into the mailing software system ensuring all information is correct for postage.
    • Process mail through postage machine or affix a postage label accordingly.
    • Process mailings that cannot be processed on machines.
    • Complete postage meter log sheets as deemed necessary.
    • Properly sort mail after postage has been affixed into the correct postage bin/pallet.
    • Organize mail tray onto designated zip code pallets for delivery to the Post Office as needed.
    • Follow Standard Work procedures.
    • Make ready, operate, maintain and have ability to troubleshoot the mailroom & hand processing process as needed.
    • Follow QC procedures and complete all paperwork, checklists, logs, and computer functions (piece level verification, job scanning and tracking , etc.) in accordance with Standard Processes.
    • Interact closely with other departments.
    • Ensure associates maintain safety and OSHA standards.
    • Responsible for cleanliness of area and maintaining 5S standards, while driving continuous improvements.
    • All other tasks as assigned by Lead, Manager, or Senior Management.
    • Comply with all current and future security and compliance requirements.

    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
