Consumer Loan Processor performs administrative tasks for loan processing. Collects and prepares necessary information required by each loan type and purpose to process and complete loan files. Being a Consumer Loan Processor verifies all documentation for accuracy and completeness. Tracks and monitors due dates. Additionally, Consumer Loan Processor ensures all documents are prepared and finalized in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Inputs and maintains all required transaction and processing records according to procedures. Responds to inquiries. Prepares required regulatory reporting. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Consumer Loan Processor works under moderate supervision. The primary function of this job is to provide outstanding service to members by assisting in direct & indirect loan document preparation and loan processing by fully using job-relevant technical skills, maintaining/updating technical skills and seeking to enhance service skills.Requires the ability to make decisions within established guidelines, the willingness to work within a sales environment, and the ability to be a team player in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork.
Essential Functions:
- Processes direct & indirect loan applications according to portfolio guidelines as appropriate
- Update applications in the computer database
- Review/interpret transmittal instructions from Underwriter for closing viable indirect loans
- Prepare/monitor closing documentation, disclosures, and disbursement of indirect loans
- Prepare packet for closing by calculating the necessary interest and fees
- Coordinate the closing date with applicant and insures loan is in compliance
- Provide information to members and employees regarding rates, terms, conditions and criteria
- Provide preliminary prequalifying information to members as needed
Other Functions:
- Solve closing related problems
- Perform final audit/verify that documentation complies with rules and regulations
- Assure that all disclosures are in compliance/sent within approved guidelines
- Assist with servicing of direct & indirect loans
- Cross-train to learn other Loan Dept. and front-office positions as needed
- Provide debt and financial counseling using established procedures
- Assist in maintaining direct & indirect loan records using established procedures
- Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management
- Notarize documents for members and staff
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge of:

- In-house computer system
- State and Federal indirect lending regulations
- PC literate, including working knowledge of Word and Excel
