Consumer Loan Officer develops and services consumer loans. Interviews loan applicants to determine financing needs and to offer the appropriate loan products and repayment arrangements. Being a Consumer Loan Officer evaluates loan applications and applicant creditworthiness. Once a loan is approved and negotiated, monitors loan payments, and provides customer service to ensure the borrower's questions are answered and needs are met, and that the loan is repaid appropriately. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide a high-quality banking experience for clients:
· Develop credit relations with loan customers
· Understand customer’s requests and needs, collect financial and other necessary information to analyze customer risk to make a lending decision
· Analysis includes evaluating operation risk, determining value of collateral, and calculating various financial ratios and historical performance using balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow while ensuring proper documentation
· Able to learn and understand various sectors of agricultural business including crop production and livestock
· Complete internal valuations and determine value of collateral which may include farmland and machinery
· Promote and educate customers on other banking services and refer business to other areas of the bank
· Support and attend internal and external events such as customer appreciation events and community functions
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Although primarily located in Waseca, willing to travel to our other bank locations on rare occasions for training.
Experience/Skills
Ability to work independently in a professional setting. The position requires attention to detail to ensure our customers and the bank have accurate account information. Strong communication, basic math and customer service skills are also required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of previous banking experience preferred, (but not required) or farm background with working knowledge of the agriculture industry. Business or similar field of study from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
