Consumer Loan Area Manager directs the consumer loan department of a financial institution or other organization. Oversees the research, development, communication, and implementation of consumer lending policies. Additionally, Consumer Loan Area Manager develops a productive staff with training and coaching. Monitors compliance with federal and state lending regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Consumer Loan Area Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Consumer Loan Area Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

     

    The Consumer Loan Processor plays a crucial role in the loan processing department of a financial institution. They are responsible for efficiently and accurately processing loan applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and maintaining a high level of member service. The Consumer Loan Processor works closely with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to facilitate the loan approval and closing process.

     

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receive and review consumer loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with established policies and procedures.

    • Prepares loan documents in accordance with the loan approval, regulatory compliance requirements and consumer elected products such as GAP, debt protection and MRC.

    • Sends the loan documents to the member for signature via DocuSign using the appropriate member verification procedures.

    • Funds the loan and disburses the proceeds in accordance with the loan instructions utilizing available automation or manual processes.

    • Regularly reviews Synergy to ensure all loan tracking checklists are complete for the loans they have funded.

    • Prepares loan documents for in branch closings and ensures the documents are in compliance with all regulations and consumer elected products such as GAP, debt protection and MRC.

    • Meets established turnaround times and productivity goals for processing loans.

    • Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to gather missing information, resolve discrepancies, and provide updates on loan application status.

    • Respond promptly and professionally to borrower inquiries, providing exceptional member service throughout the loan process.

    Qualifications


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

    • General knowledge of credit union lending is desirable.

    • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED required.

    • Two year Business or related degree preferred or two to four years credit union experience with progressive responsibilities in new account and/or loan operations.

    • General knowledge of credit union operations may be desirable.
